Achieving a Matte finish - If you don’t care for the stock shine of your Blythe's face, one option is to give her a matte finish by sanding..

Norton sanding sponges work wonderful. If you are not able to find Norton sanding sponges, please be aware that sand paper/sponge grit will vary from brand to brand, so when using a different brand please be sure to test a small area on the back of the head first. You do not want to leave scratches.

Cut a small square of the sponge. You can wet the sponge, or use it dry.

Start out with the lower grit, with Norton that would be the red 100 grit sponge. Sand in a circular motion. Be careful not to over sand. You don’t want to sand away blythe’s features. You want to just sand enough to remove the shine.

You can use a smaller piece of the sponge to reach areas around the nose and lips.

Once you’ve removed the shine, then you use the yellow 320 grit sponge to go back over for a perfect finish.

After sand matting, you can reapply eye shadow and blush using chalk pastels.  Click here for tips on applying chalk pastels.

Airbrushing is also an option, although I have not had any experience with that, so I can't offer any advice or 'how to' information.
